Warehouse Stores Operative

Immediate Start
Permanent/Full Time
8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 1pm on Friday. Half an hour for lunch. 39 hour week
Salary: £15,879.24 – £16,629.60 pa

Reporting to: Stores Manager
SCOPE:
To support the flow of materials from receipt to despatch including components, sub and finished assemblies to the point of need, thereby ensuring the company cost and performance targets are achieved. The job will involve close liaison and active contribution with Purchasing, Manufacturing and Sales disciplines (team approach).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: ( NOT ESSENTIAL)

·A good standard of secondary education.
·Good understanding of computerised manufacturing systems, particularly the in house software. MRP experience an advantage.
·Computer literate.
·Awareness of latest stores techniques, including JIT, Kanban and replenishment/re-order point an advantage.
·High level component recognition skills an advantage.
·Neat, tidy, methodical, accurate and attention to detail driven approach.
·Hands on approach to all tasks.
·Environmental understanding and leaning.
·Good time management.
·Fork lift truck licence an advantage.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Packing finished goods in line with the company packing procedures and packing matrix.
·Processing shipments using the UPS System.
·Ensure stock accuracy is maintained at all times.
·The preparation, picking and issue of kits of materials in a timely and effective manner to the point of need.
·Booking in of all received materials and services.
·Liaise with internal customers and suppliers to maximise efficiency and performance of the department.
·Help in the management of non-conforming, un-planned and rejected materials.
·Assist Stores Manager in achieving departmental objectives.
·Work within the company re-cycling system.
·Ensure that all stock is correctly labelled, accurately located and distributed to the point of need.
·Work within a team on RoSH identification.
·Driving the company van as and when required.
·Ensuring the company vehicle is maintained and checked on a regular basis.
