Reports to:  Stores Team Leader

Hours:  07:00 – 15:00 & 09:00-17:00 (rotating shift)

Pay rate:  £11.06 per hour

Job Type:  Immediate Start – Temporary

Job Role:

• Work within stores team maintaining all plant and tools
• Delivering materials and kits in line with customer demand planning
• Unloading, validating and receiving all items into the stores
• Pick and issue materials, plant and tools to required personnel
• Support delivery of the client’s KPI’s and SLA’s within the stores’ operation

Responsibilities:

• Always work in a safe, reliable manner keeping store area clean, tidy & hazard free for work to be carried out safely,

• Reporting any safety issues immediately & in line with the stores processes,

• Ensure you understand, apply & adhere to all stores’ materials, plant & tools management processes and procedures,

• Accept daily material deliveries, carry out goods inspections & rejections & correctly store all parts in line with stores procedures,

• Issue materials & kits in line with the customer demand planning, ensuring all required documentation is present at point of handover,

• Issue, record & care for plant and tools. Ensure all issued equipment and tools are fully charged & recorded correctly, ensuring all required documentation is present at point of handover,

• Process return of plant & tools, ensuring they are placed on charge up on return,

• Engage in routine stock checks & audits in line with policy & procedures in place,

• Participate in the calibration & PATS management of plant & tools in line with the stores processes,
• Reporting any defects or damaged items to the Stores Team Leader and Quarantine in line with stores processes,

• Partake in Continuous Improvement initiatives & standards, including the daily review of open 3C’s – from WPA and Comms Cell.  Supporting the correct application of the client’s tools & techniques & to ensure that all issues are identified quickly & resolved robustly,

• To maintain the stores systems for consumables, plant and tools as required and in line with the stores processes.

Essentials! –

• Prior experience of working within a modern warehouse environment.
• Experience of warehouse computer systems.
• Qualified FLT driver.
• Sound IT Skills.
• Knowledge of COSHH Procedures.
• Undertaken Manual Handling Training. 
• Customer focused
• Flexibility to cover the shift requirements during annual leave of team members

Desirable:

• Experience/ knowledge of the rail industry
• Depot Safety Training
• Knowledge of lean tools and continuous improvement techniques
