Our client a leading international set of Chambers (if you do not know what chambers is, that is fine we will help! They are like a law firm) with an emphasis on excellence in the areas of child and family law, clinical and professional negligence, personal injury, local authority liability, insurance disputes, employment, fraud, contract and tort, regulatory, anti-money laundering and white collar crime.

JOB TITLE: Front of House

JOB TYPE: Permanent

SALARY: £22,500-£25000 depending on experience

COMPANY TYPE: Chambers

HOURS: Monday to Friday 8:30am-5:30pm

LOCATION: Chancery Lane

Key responsibilities:

Reception

  • To meet and greet clients visiting Chambers, having checked in the diary who is expected to arrive during the day.
  • Check the diary for meetings and allocate conference rooms appropriately taking into consideration numbers of attendees and the number of rooms required by the barrister.
  • Assist with the setting up of conference rooms, including the provision of tea and coffee.
  • Assist with catering orders as required by the barristers for marketing events and Chambers’ meetings.
  • Operate Chambers’ switchboard acting as front of house for clients calling into Chambers.
  • Producing name badges for seminars from the replies received.
  • Assisting with production of brochures for seminars.
  • Assisting with seminar registration and serving food and drinks at seminars when required.
  • Assisting the Administration Manager when required.

Person Specification:

  • Experience of working in a similar role in a small or medium sized organisation
  • Well presented and articulate.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Experienced in Word and Excel spreadsheets
  • Excellent verbal/written communications skills
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully planning and organizing meetings.
  • Good Team Player.
  • Highly organized and able to create new office systems as required
  • Highly literate, with excellent grammar and spelling skills
  • Numerate
  • Internet proficient – surfing, search, email, etc.
  • Accurate keyboard skills and at least 40 words per minute typing speed
  • Audio typing skills
  • Demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under own initiative
