Our client is the leading professional body for managers of large and complex residential buildings, providing learning and qualifications to 5,000 members and are working with Government to deliver industry-leading qualifications and learning whilst providing accredited qualifications at multiple levels and in multiple sectors within the property management industry.

They have a fantastic opportunity for a new Course Development Manager to join their regulated qualifications team. You will focus on setting the standards and designing, developing and maintaining regulated qualifications, assessments/exams and post-qualification CPD learning.

The successful applicant will have previously designed and delivered nationally recognised qualifications and have a good knowledge of OFQUAL regulatory requirements. You will have experience working in an educational, training, development and/or assessment environment, ideally at University or FE level and will have experience of managing multiple projects.

Job Purpose:

The role includes recognition/accreditation of third-parties; maintenance of the infrastructure required to deliver qualifications and services (such as markers, assessors, facilitators and other interested parties); maintenance of examination question banks and papers.

The role will also be responsible for defining, developing, communicating, implementing and monitoring IRPM’s qualifications, with responsibility for the monitoring and assessment of compliance including Internal Quality Assurance

Duties Include:

  • Keep up to date with policies and initiatives relevant to product development
  • Lead in the development of new qualifications and/or related products following procedures
  • Lead in product review, implementing changes when appropriate
  • Work closely with the Product Development team in relation to qualification development
  • Be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and currency of Qualification details on the Awarding Body database
  • Develop, maintain and review effective and efficient systems and procedures to support the activities of the core functions of the team and maintain related procedural manuals including templates
  • Undertake all administration related to the area of work
  • Be responsible for carrying out efficiently and effectively all procedures relating to the submission of qualifications to the Ofqual register
  • Be a point of contact with awarding bodies relation to any issues relating to the submission of qualifications to the Ofqual Portal
  • Assist in the contribution of the maintenance of compliance with regulatory requirements in relevant areas of responsibility
  • Identify and recruit subject/technical experts with a range of skills appropriate for the development of qualifications, End-Point Assessment, Functional Skills, product and services, ensuring sufficient human, financial and infrastructure resources are made available
  • Championing the portfolio, skills and attributes of our client, representing the company at internal and external meetings, and supporting the delivery of events and conferences to strengthen existing credibility, reputation through effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Facilitate the production of assessment materials, awarding organisation guidance for centres, external quality assurers and assessors
  • Support the Head of Qualifications to prepare, develop and present business proposals that accurately reflect the collective views of the customer, expenditure and income, together with clearly established development timelines, stakeholder engagement/buy-in and approval.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A relevant degree or comparable qualification and a Quality Assurance qualification or equivalent
  • Experience in the end-to-end design lifecycle of regulated qualifications, assessments and managing Subject Matter Experts and/or lead Authors
  • Competent and experienced in the application and operation of ICT, in particular for database operations and our current Learning Management System (Moodle
  • Commitment to a high standard of customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to organise and prioritise
  • Ability to achieve agreed targets and to work to deadlines
  • Understanding of awarding body procedures and processes would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of the residential property sector and/or professional bodies would be beneficial
  • Full driving licence and be able to attend meetings nationally across the UK with the potential for overnight stays
