£30,500 – £35,500 DOE

Based in a beautiful part of London my client is a private hospital looking for an experienced Staff Nurse to join their established Out Patients team.

The Outpatient Department provides services for a variety of specialties including orthopaedics, ophthalmic, obstetrics-gynaecology, dermatology, plastics as well as a nurse led pre-assessment clinic.

Opening Hours:

The department is open Mon – Sat 8am till 8pm so the hours will be full time (37.5) with a mix of earlies and lates and occasional Saturdays.

These role would ideally suit an experienced Staff Nurse who can support a range of clinical specialties, contributing to the delivery of an effective, efficient and responsive outpatient service. You will participate in the Governance of the department; including Risk Management, Health and Safety and Audit activities.

Duties will include:

Ensure each patient is assessed, and their care is planned, implemented, evaluated, and documented.
Ensuring the provision of a welcoming, caring and safe environment for patients and their families.
Communicate complex and sensitive information to patients, carers providing appropriate support.
Develop & maintain clinical skills and knowledge
To be competent in the administration of medication
Participate in risk management, clinical audits, clinical risk and quality issues, incident reporting etc.
Act as a team leader, mentor & perceptor for Health Care Assistants facilitating their development.

The successful candidate will have:

Previous relevant experience working in a similar healthcare environment
Excellent people skills, good communication and observation ability
Sound knowledge and experience within the various clinical specialties
Demonstrable experience in mentoring junior staff
Experience of working as part of a multi disciplinary team
The ability to work under pressure and with high volumes of work during peak times
