Job Description:

This is a 6 month maternity cover contract to join a busy and professional Team who run events for both corporate and private customers.
Predominantly working 8am – 5pm, but due to new company working hours flexibility is required to work some evenings and weekends

The whole Team work towards ensuring that guests attending the events have a truly memorable and positive experience and therefore exceptionally high standards of customer care and the ability to liaise with people at all levels is essential.

Key duties include:

•Taking new bookings, planning client brief, accurately interpreting and organising

•Producing detailed proposals for events i.e. timelines, venues, supplier, legal obligations, worksheets, staffing, budgets etc.

•Planning the event programs, room layouts, scheduling any additional requirements

•Liaising with Team leaders to ensure client requirements are met, hosting and assisting on the day

•Ensure budgets are signed of and agreed in line with company policy as well as post-event budget reconciliation and month end financial/metric reporting.

•Building relationships with professional service providers and first point of contact for corporate enquiries

•Event debrief – making sure customers’ expectations have been exceeded

•Overseeing the Reception Team

•Managing bookings and keeping an up to date diary

This is a varied and busy role that is measured by the positive feedback from clients and the smooth running of events and budget controls, therefore we are looking for the following skills, experience and qualifications:

•Experience of event management (relevant degree an advantage)

•Enthusiasm, drive, commitment and the confidence to achieve goals with minimal supervision

•Excellent organisation, planning skills and written and verbal communication skills

•Account managing and financial skills

•Numerate with an excellent grasp of MS Office applications

•Good working knowledge of a small business
